The Blackhawks acquired veteran defenseman Kimmo Timonen Friday in a very do business with the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Blackhawks sent a 2015 second-round draft pick along with a conditional 2016 fourth-round draft pick for the Flyers inside deal.
Timonen has not played there is much surprise since he was told they have blood clots in his leg and lungs last early August. He was cleared by doctors recently and was scheduled to make his debut for that Flyers on Saturday.
The 39-year-old native of Finland ranks third among active defenseman with 571 points in 1,092 career games over 15 seasons with Philadelphia and Nashville. She has posted four goals and 31 assists in 87 career playoff games.
Chicago also announced which it placed defenseman Johnny Oduya on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. Oduya has tallied two goals and three assists in 60 games this coming year.
